Concealed Carry Criminal Defense Reimbursement Bond

Do you have a concealed carry permit?  Are you retired law enforcement and are legally able to carry a concealed weapon?  If so and you have wondered about what would happen if you had to use your weapon in self-defense, this bond may be just what you are looking for.

There is now a bond that a CCP holder can purchase that will reimburse the reasonable legal fees, expenses and costs of a defense up to a maximum limit of $250,000. Premiums begin at $100 for $50,000 of coverage for one year.  There is no underwriting; the permit holder would simply supply their name, address, phone and email along with payment and the bond is issued on the effective date they choose.  Follow the link below to view a brochure:

Drag Race Car Insurance

Drag Race Car Insurance

For those of us that love going fast you still want to make sure that you protect the investment that helps you do just that.  More and More people who own high performance vehicles are taking them to the race track for HPDE (High Performance Driver Experience) or TT (Time Trial) events.  Some of you may wonder if your personal auto policy will cover any damage caused by participating in these events.  The personal auto policy is needed while the vehicle is used on public roads but once you bring your vehicle to the race track, the personal auto policy coverage ends as soon as it passes the entry gate.  Fortunately, there is a product available.

At Hartland Insurance Group, we can offer a package of events (volume discounts are available) as well as coverage for just one single event.  For Program details or a quote, please visit the HPDE/TT page.

If your passion is drag racing, we can help you there as well.  If your drag race car is not street legal; the personal auto policy will not be available at all.  This is where our program steps in.  We can cover your car off track which begins as soon as your car hits the turn around road.  It will be covered in the pits, in transit and locked in your garage or shops garage.  Where we stand apart is that we can also offer coverage while your car is racing.  Our on track coverage begins as soon as your car enters the water box and goes until it hits the turn around road.  For Program details or a quote, please visit the Drag Race Car Insurance page.

Being able to take your car to the limits of its engineering and design is a true trill ride!  Knowing it’s covered if something happens… Makes it all the more fun!

No Insurance, No Ridesharing, Cities Tell UberX, Lyft and Others | PropertyCasualty360

As ridesharing becomes more prevalent in our big cities; city/state governments are starting to notice that proper insurance coverage has to be in place.

“Insurance companies say using a personal car for paid rides voids a driver’s personal insurance policy. The policy would not cover drivers between fares, either.”

“”It is a commercial venture,” said Loretta Worters, a spokeswoman for the Insurance Information Institute, an industry trade group, and drivers need commercial insurance.”

Limousine and taxi cab companies all have to have the proper commercial insurance to operate.  These laws are in place mainly to protect passengers if they get injured.  It stands to reason that the ridesharing industry will have to follow suit.

The power of volume purchasing

Being an insurance provider, I’m also an insurance consumer. With that said, yes, I want to be properly covered, but at the right price. I’m sure many of you feel the same way. In fact, auto insurance is the most shopped insurance coverage out there. We as consumers will accept inflationary increases in pretty much any other product we purchase but not so in our insurance coverage. I’m not stating nothing new here but now what? How do we keep these costs down? Have you thought about volume purchasing?

For us individuals buying auto insurance, we can join a credit union (14% discount). If we have a college degree, we can join our alumni association (12-14% discount). There are many groups we can belong to which can help in lowering our auto insurance costs. So what do we do as businesses owners. Here are a few things to consider as you look to lower your insurance costs:

1. Do you belong to any trade associations?  Your association may have discounted insurance programs exclusively for its members.  Such coverages as property, liability, commercial auto and workers comp can be offered at a 12 to 15% discount.

2. Is your business a franchise?  Many franchisers offer insurance at a discounted cost to their franchisees.  Because of the volume of purchasers, the rates are usually very attractive.

3.  Other businesses that do what you do.  Many “hard to insure” businesses will seek each other out.  They can join forces to purchase insurance in volume and spread the cost.  Something like this can be in the form of a Risk Retention Group or even a Captive Insurance Company.

Purchasing insurance this way can greatly reduce the cost and bring more earned income into your company.  If your association does not offer an insurance program, contact me and I can discuss it with them.  There is no cost to the association and they can even get marketing overrides which can be an income stream for them.  Risk Retention Groups and Captives can be fantastic cost savers if they fit well financially for your company.

Instead of having the same quotes come in for the same insurance; on your next renewal, let’s think more creatively and see if another solution may fit much better.
